Electrical engineering scope: from basic evaluation to post-completion support
The scope of services spans all nine service phases – from the supply concept to the final documentation. We plan low- and medium-voltage distribution, cable routing, lighting including lighting calculations, lightning protection and earthing, as well as data and network systems – coordinated with ventilation ducts, pipe networks and automation systems in the same model.
Our electrical planning is part of coordinated building services (MEP) planning: we plan the interface to building automation & controls in-house – every data point is known before tendering starts.

Whether a building is reliably supplied, safely lit and digitally connected is decided by its electrical planning. Our planning fields cover system groups 4 and 5 of the standard project phases – from the service connection to the network cabinet.
Power systems
Energy supply, low- and medium-voltage distribution, cable routing and lighting installations – sized in the model, with reserves for photovoltaics and EV charging infrastructure.
Low-voltage & communications
Data and network systems, communications technology and the interfaces to building automation – planned in a structured way instead of pulled in as an afterthought.
Safety systems
Emergency lighting, safety power supply, lightning protection and earthing to the relevant DIN and VDE standards – documented ready for inspection by assessors and operators.
What does electrical planning under standard project phases include?
The project phases assign electrical engineering to the technical building equipment: system group 4 covers power installations, system group 5 covers telecommunications and information technology installations (§ 53 HOAI). The scope of services is structured into nine service phases – from basic evaluation to post-completion support.
In concrete terms, this includes: the supply and energy concept, sizing of distribution boards and routes, lighting calculations, bills of quantities for procurement, and specialist site management in service phase 8. Fees are based on eligible costs, the fee zone and the commissioned service phases.

Specialist site management for electrical works: securing quality on site
Good planning is worth little if nobody on site checks that it is followed. As specialist site management for electrical systems, we continuously check distribution boards, routes and installations against the detailed design – also as a stand-alone mandate for designs by other firms. Electrical design engineer or electrical contractor – who does what?
The electrical design engineer plans, tenders and supervises – the electrical contractor carries out the work. As an independent engineering consultancy, we produce the design that installing companies use to price and install; we sell neither installation nor materials. That keeps tendering manufacturer-neutral, makes bids comparable and cleanly separates design from execution.
For a private single-family home, the electrical contractor is usually the right contact. Our scope of services is aimed at clients, architects, general planners and companies with commercial projects.
Does PCM-Reichl also plan photovoltaics and EV charging infrastructure?

Yes – on request from the very start as part of the energy concept, not as an afterthought. Reserves for PV, charging infrastructure and backup power are sized early: in the distribution boards, the routes and the connected load.
Does PCM-Reichl also take on just the specialist site management for electrical works?

Yes. We also take on specialist site management for electrical systems in service phase 8 as a stand-alone mandate – including designs by other firms, when clients or general planners lack the capacity for phase 8.

Yes, regularly: we deliver specialist electrical planning as part of your design team – on its own or together with HVAC & plumbing and building automation, model-based and in open exchange formats.
